Welcome to Pinewood
Pinewood is set in 84 acres of rolling countryside on the border between Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. The school offers a quality, family-based co-educational day and boarding environment for children aged 3-13.
Pupils are prepared for top independent senior schools at both Common Entrance and scholarship level, through a blend of traditional and forward-thinking teaching, which encourages independence in learning and fosters academic excellence. In both the Prep and Pre-Prep, learning outside the classroom, together with music, drama, art and sport, are seen as vital to a child's development. The school offers a wide range of activities, which includes the Pinewood Adventure programme. Manners, self-reliance and a regard for others are valued principles upon which the school's ethos is built.
ISI Inspection Report - April 2012
We are delighted to have received an excellent report from the Independent Schools Inspectorate which can be read by clicking here. The following is a very brief summary of their findings, but we highly recommend you to read the full report - we will also be publishing a summary of the key points on the website shortly.
“Pinewood School is highly successful in meeting its aim of releasing the potential of pupils by developing character, curiosity, learning and skills. Pupils achieve excellent standards throughout the school, including the EYFS. Pupils’ success is largely a result of good teaching, a broad curriculum and their own positive attitudes, relationships, enthusiasm and excellent behaviour.”
