Admissions
We do not have a formal prospectus. Our website provides all the relevant information that you as parents/guardians should need. If you are interested in coming to visit the school, please fill in the form below and press send. Our Registrar, Janey Nelson, would be delighted to talk to you at any time to arrange an appointment or answer any questions. Her number is 01793 782205 or email office@pinewoodschool.co.uk
If you do not receive a response from this enquiry form within a reasonable length of time, please contact Janey direct on the above email address.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
1. Once the contact form has been submitted, an appointment will be arranged for you to come and visit the school and meet the Headmaster. You are more than welcome to bring your child but this is not essential. The Headmaster and Registrar will give you an indication of available places in year group/s.
2. If you feel Pinewood is the right environment for your child, we would then ask you to complete the formal registration form and return this with a £40 non-refundable deposit to the Registrar. Confirmation of a place, as either definite or waiting list, will be made following receipt of this deposit.
3. We will then contact you to arrange a morning for your child to spend at the school where some informal academic assessment takes place within a class situation.
4. Subject to there being no obvious academic or behavioural problems, a firm offer of a place can be made. This needs to be accepted in writing and accompanied by a cheque for £400. This amount will be refunded at the end of your child's final term.
NOTES
From 3 years; Pre-Prep the academic year in which your child rises 5 years old; Prep:the academic year in which your child rises 8 years old. (The academic year runs from 1st September - 31st August).
2. The expectation would be that your child would be at Pinewood until the end of the academic year when he/she sits the entrance exam for the chosen senior school. Otherwise, a term's notice in writing, or payment of a term's fees in lieu, is required when you wish your child to leave the school. No reduction in fees is made for children absent through sickness, or any other cause, although optional insurance exists for this purpose. Parents may, at any time, be required without a term's notice, to remove their child from the school if, in the opinion of the Headmaster, such is in the interest of the child and/or the school.
