Echange 2008 - 03/05/2008

On Thursday 24th April 24 children from Ecole Bignon in Normandy arrived to spend five days with our Year 6.

As part of our regular Year 6 French Exchange programme, the french pupils were hosted in pairs by Year 6 families.  On Friday, the french children went to Faringdon, enjoyed fish and chips for lunch and were introduced to rounders during the afternoon.

Saturday was quite different for the French as they don’t normally go to school on a Saturday; lessons were followed by a go on the trim trail with Mr Richards. Sunday saw a day with their host families: organised by the Pinewood parents, the boys all went to Longleat and the girls to Paultons Park and by all accounts a lot of fun was had by all.

Everybody went to Warwick castle on Monday and despite the slightly poor weather it was a very enjoyable day out. It was with sadness that we had to say goodbye to our French friends. We are all thoroughly looking forward to meeting up again at the end of the month, when Pinewood pupils will travel to France for their exchange experience.
