On Monday 6th December, the National Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Awards were held in Nottingham and it was announced that Pinewood had won the South West Region Award, placing it in the top 5 schools in the country.
LOtC is at Pinewood’s heart. Equal importance is given to the explicit requirements of a classroom driven curriculum and the implicit benefits of a curriculum far beyond that. Pinewood pupils become positive, responsible people, working and cooperating with others, having developed knowledge and skills through learning that extends well beyond a traditional classroom.
The Award reflects a commitment to providing a creative and engaging education that gives real meaning to learning, something of which the whole Pinewood community, pupils, staff and parents can be proud.
