Against strong opposition from the larger single sex prep schools, our Year 6 and Year 8 teams performed well.
Our Year 8/7 A team competed really well achieveing the following results:
Henry Alexander - 3rd in the Triple Jump, 4th in the hurdles and 800m
Oliver Britten - 4th in the 100m
Jacob Brandi - 4th in the Long Jump
Phillippa Hall - 4th in the Javelin
but with no B team and accumulated scores we finished 7th in the combined total.
Our Year 6 team fought really hard and finished 4th, with the following individual results:
Fergus O'Keefe - 2nd in the Discus & 3rd in the Shot
Reuben Arkwright - 3rd in the 200m
Hayden Say - 3rd in the 400m
Dominic Hutchinson - 3rd in the Javelin
Islay Kingham - 2nd in the 100m
Both teams were boosted by the addition of girls and although they received a number of comments from the opposition, the girls put the boys in their place. There were notable performances from Phillippa Hall, Islay Kingham and the A relay team consisting of a boy and 3 girls (Oliver Britten, Phillippa Hall, Georgie Bethwaite and Olympia Olympitis), who finished 4th out of 8.
It was an afternoon of quality performances enjoyed by all who took part.
