Faringdon Arts Society Competition Winner

Grace Walduck FAS comp winner Nov 20 10

Well done to all the children who took part in the recent Faringdon Arts Society Children’s Art Competition. We are delighted that Grace W was selected as the overall winner in Key Stage 2 for her flour paste/batik parrot cushion, inspired by her studies on the rainforest. For her prize Grace was awarded a £25 voucher for art materials for herself and £50 for the school.

The following were also Highly Commended:

Willoughby R for his batik chameleon cushion
Annabel P for her African inspired stitching
Freya H for her African inspired stitching
Trinity P for her African inspired stitching
Beatrix B for her African cardboard mask
George B for his Taj Mahal collage

The theme of Faringdon Art Society’s children’s competition this year was art from different cultures. The original idea was for the children’s art work to be part of a real exhibition in Faringdon’s Corn Exchange; however, with the pandemic, this year’s exhibition is a virtual one and can be viewed at http://www.faringdonartsociety.co.uk/2020-virtual-exhibition.html and the entries for the children’s competition can be found here: http://www.faringdonartsociety.co.uk/2020-childrens-art-competition.html
