Friends of Pinewood (FOP) are delighted to be supporting the following charities this year:
The Trust was set up in 1997 in memory of Charlie Waller, a young man who took his own life whilst suffering from depression. Shortly after his death, his family founded the Trust in order to educate young people on the importance of staying mentally well and how to do so.
Pennyhooks Farm is a beautiful, small organic beef farm situated near Shrivenham that has been owned by the Otter family for over 60 years. They provide a unique experience for young people and adults with Autism Spectrum Condition.
Wiltshire Treehouse offers bereavement support to children, young people and their families after they have lost a loved one. The charity offers therapy sessions, workshops and peer support groups conducted by trained professionals to help those under 25 who are grieving.
Julia’s House is not a typical children’s hospice. They provide practical and emotional support for families caring for a child with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, providing frequent and regular support in their own homes, in the community or at their hospices.
A proportion of money raised at all FOP events this year will be donated to these charities. We thank you in advance for your support at our events, particularly those planned for this term: Bonfire Night on Friday 2nd November and the Christmas Fair on Saturday 1st December. We are always looking for volunteers to help at events, so please do contact any of the FOPs or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you can spare a little of your time.
