School Houses

In the prep school your child will be in one of four ‘houses': Farnborough (yellow), Melchet (green), Motcombe (red) and Postbridge (blue).

The houses are named after the former locations of the school. Siblings will, as a rule, be in the same house.

Houses compete in a range of inter-house events each term, such as inter-house cross-country, the inter-house music competition, 3 Ball Football and inter-house chess. They also compete for the weekly ‘points up’ cup and the overall winner of all events is awarded the Young House Challenge Cup and a Treat Day at the end of the Summer Term.

The houses take it in turns to organise a termly House Charity Morning, when the pupils in the house run stalls and other fun activities to raise money for charity. Currently these events raise money for the Shonda Project, a community based charity near Mombasa, Kenya.
