Hugo and Sienna Lawson and their parents visited Shonda at Christmas. They were really pleased to see all the wonderful developments at St John’s School and to hand over Nursery teaching resources, pictures from Pre-Prep, a friendship banner, a projector and old first team match kit, which the St John’s children were very excited to wear.
Staff at St John’s School were really pleased to tell the Lawsons that in 2014 14 out 15 of their pupils, who sat the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams, had achieved high enough marks to qualify to join national schools in Kenya (the previous year only one pupil had been successful). This success has been put down to many things, including the feeding programme, better motivation of teachers and equipment, much of which has been paid for or provided by Pinewood through Shonda UK.
The Shonda Project and St John’s School are enormously grateful to all the support provided by Pinewood, through your generous donations at the end of plays and carol services and funds raised on the Shonda stall at the Christmas Fair.
