Pinewood pupils achieved great success with 1 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronzes in this year’s UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge.
Over 200,000 pupils from Years 8 to 11 from across the UK sat the paper with only the top 6% receiving a gold award, the next 13% a silver, and the next 21% a bronze. Molly McNicholas was awarded a gold award and Daniel Ayres a silver. Both these children will be taking part in the next round, while Connie Campbell-Gray, Florence von Simson, Gabrielle Steg and Annabelle Moody all earned bronze awards.
The children should all be very pleased with their efforts as this challenge is aimed at children up to year 11.
We have a team going to the UKMT Team Maths Challenge next week and we are taking part in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge next term.
