Year 7 ‘Cracking The Code’ Day at Sherborne

Cracking the code 2

Six of our Year 7 pupils enjoyed a great day out “Cracking the Code” at Sherborne School and Sherborne Girls’ School. They took part in group tasks with a dozen other schools, across Modern Languages, Humanities, Maths and Science. In Science they extracted DNA from a strawberry; in Maths they deciphered a message from solving a wide range of mathematical problems; in History they debated whether Mary Queen of Scots should have survived or been killed; in Geography they put together presentations based on how to solve humanitarian disasters across Africa; and in Modern Languages they explored Dutch past participles and also investigated underground stations in a Swedish city.  They all had a lot of fun and gained a good overview of both schools and their impressive facilities.
