Welcome to Pre-Prep at Pinewood School – the first step on a wonderful adventure!
The curiosity, passion and drive to learn is a life-long pursuit, giving us an important role in Pre-Prep: to inspire the enthusiasm that will remain with the children for the rest of their lives.
The holistic approach that permeates Pinewood as a whole is never more prevalent than here with our youngest pupils. The children are encouraged to take risks, follow their passions and expand their horizons – all with a core understanding of what it means to be a kind, considerate and gracious member of our school community and beyond.

Housed in their own buildings, the Pre-Prep children lead busy, but structured days, with plenty of opportunity to tailor learning to the individual child.
At this early stage, efforts are focused on delivering an imaginative and engaging curriculum that works to develop self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence.
Children continue to receive a broad and balanced creative curriculum, studying a range of subjects as they move into Key Stage 1.
Being outside is an important part of life at Pinewood, and our wonderful grounds provide varied opportunities for learning.
We can offer wraparound care for children in Pre-Prep & Early Years, who need either before or after-school care.
Parents and pupils’ families are an important part of the Pinewood community and there are many opportunities to see the children in action in special assemblies, plays and on sports day.

We hold regular toddler mornings on Thursdays throughout the term.
This is a wonderful opportunity for families considering joining our Nursery or Reception to get to know the school better, making for a smoother transition when your child eventually starts at Pinewood. It is also a chance to meet other parents, either those already at the school or those also considering joining us soon.
