Bursar & Clerk to the Governors

The Governors of Pinewood School invite applications from suitably qualified candidates with strong financial, operational and strategic leadership experience for the post of Bursar and Clerk to the Governors of Pinewood School. The start date will be from 1st September 2021 (or an earlier date to be agreed, if available) or as soon as possible afterwards.

The role of Bursar is the most senior non-teaching post within the school and oversees the operational and strategic management of all non-teaching departments including finance, estates, IT, HR, domestic and catering.  The Bursar has significant interaction with the Head and also with the Governors in the role as Clerk to the Governors. The Bursar will benefit from the support of a well-established team of professionally qualified managers and will bring their own outstanding experience of people and project management, along with an ability to build good relations with stakeholders at all levels.

Science Teacher (Maternity Cover)

We are looking to appoint a qualified teacher to join the Science Department to teach Science to Years 3–8. Candidates must have confidence in teaching Science for Common Entrance (13+) and be able to demonstrate a genuine passion for their subject and a commitment to ensuring every child is able to achieve their full potential. Willingness to be involved in the busy co-curricular life of the school would be advantageous.

Salary will be dependent on experience and paid according to the Pinewood Teaching Scale.

This a maternity cover role which is expected to last for one academic year.
