Pupils use ICT at Pinewood to communicate and handle information and present it in a variety of ways. They learn to control a variety of electronic devices and develop an understanding of the use of control in everyday life. They use computer models to explore and test the answers to questions.
We aim to produce learners who are confident and effective users of ICT. We recognise that these skills have the ability to motivate and enthuse pupils, to enable them to work individually, co-operatively, and collaboratively, and to develop perseverance and flexibility.
We aim to ensure that all pupils achieve high standards in Computer Science capability and develop the knowledge, skills and understanding required to become confident and competent users of ICT.
ICT is also incorporated into the planning of all other subjects, to meet their statutory requirements for using ICT, as outlined in the Programmes of Study for each subject.
