“Principles and values are actively promoted, which facilitate the personal development of pupils as responsible, tolerant, law-abiding citizens… Collaboration and co-operation are central pillars of the school ethos… Pupils of all ages express their ideas and opinions eloquently and listen to the views of others with due respect.”

We follow the Jigsaw mindful approach to Personal, Social & Health Education for ages 3-13. This programme is a comprehensive and original scheme of work covering all aspects of PSHE as required by the Independent School Standards.
The Jigsaw programme is structured into 6 half-term units, known as ‘Puzzles’:
Each year group studies the same Puzzle at the same time, at the relevant level. Designed as a whole school programme, it enhances growth mindset culture and builds ethos, a sense of belonging and community, values every child, and is inclusive and nurtures positive relationships with self and others, all conducive to learning.
The authentic focus on emotional and mental health is underpinned by mindfulness philosophy and made real by mindfulness practice being embedded in every lesson. This empowers students to regulate their own emotional states and to choose their responses, impacting positively on behaviours and self-esteem.
“The quality of pupils’ personal development is excellent… [They] develop strong self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence, and are encouraged and helped to take control of their own learning and performance.”
