The CharitAbles recently organised a book swap at school, where adults and children could bring in their unwanted books and, for just £1, could take as many books as they liked in exchange. The event was phenomenally successful and raised £125, which the group decided to donate to The Shrivenham Hub.

On a recent visit to the Hub, the CharitAbles, Seb, Joe and Dessie, were delighted to present their donation, as well as being very interested to learn more about the Hub’s work to reduce landfill by re-using, repairing or recycling effectively. The Hub runs a repair team workshop once a month, which often requires the purchase of parts in order to fix the items. We feel the money will be well spent supporting this worthy cause whilst also supporting the community.

The CharitAbles is part of our new SKILLS programme, focusing on the Service & Society element of SKILLS, encouraging the children to think about the community and environment around Pinewood, and how they can make a difference to the lives of others.
