We are thrilled that our fully refurbished and covered swimming pool is now open for all-year-round swimming and we can’t wait for the sound of children joyfully splashing around in the pool this term as they get to grips with the serious business of learning to swim (come rain or shine!).
We have recruited two fully qualified swimming teachers, enabling every child from Pre-Prep to Year 8 to have regular swimming lessons, as well as providing opportunities for squad/club sessions (in SKILLS) over the weekly school timetable for those children in Years 3-8 keen to progress and enjoy swimming. Boarders will also be able to make use of the swimming pool for recreation swimming in the evenings, as well as early morning sessions.
This is an exciting development for Pinewood’s physical education and overall sports provision in this our 150th Anniversary year.

We are delighted to announce an exciting development in our Upper School (Years 7 and 8) Science curriculum. Starting in September 2026, we will move away from following the traditional 13+ Common Entrance route in Science in favour of a new bespoke curriculum developed by our own Science Department.
